 TANYCASTELL lies a mile west of Dolwyddelan. The village of Dolwyddelan is situated on the A470 about halfway between Betws-y-Coed and Blaenau Ffestiniog. It lies at the foot of Moel Siabod, in the beautiful Lledr Valley, and is overlooked by the impressive 12th century Welsh castle.
April – July 2007: Newly refurnished throughout, TANYCASTELL accommodates up to 8 persons and 2 cots. It consists of original ceiling beams and slate & wooden floors with all modern conveniences including free Internet access, SKY/DVD/TV/HI-FI + central heating.
Kitchen
On the ground floor is the newly fitted kitchen with electric oven and 4 hob, dishwasher, fridge & freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer and a wine cooler which can hold up to 40 bottles of wine!
Dinning Room
The Dinning Room has a very long table with 8 chairs plus modern multi fuel stove. CD/ Radio Player.
 Lounge
The Lounge is furnished for relaxing and soaking in the ambience of the house. It has a cast iron stove with a very large and comfortable 3 seater leather sofa along with 3 leather armchairs, a footstool and a wooden chair. Watch your favourite Sky programme or DVD, or simply while away your time listening to the radio, favourite CD or browsing the internet (but bring your own laptop though!). Alternatively peruse our small library of books, maps and games.
3 Bedrooms (sleeps 8 + 2 cots)
It hasthree bedrooms, the largest consisting of a king size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and 2 bedside cabinets plus en suite facilities. The second a double bed again has the same type of furniture and the third bedroom has 2 guest beds both of which have additional pull out beds. 2 cots are available upon request.
Bathroom
The large bathroom has both a shower and bath, toilet and washbasin and heated towel rail. The King-size bedroom benefits from en suite facilities consisting of shower, toilet, washbasin and bathroom cabinet.
Heating
Tanycastell benefits from 2 multi fuel burning stoves (wood and coal) one in the Dinning room and the other in the Lounge. These two rooms also benefit from under floor heating. In addition gas central heating has been installed for those cold winter nights. 2 roaring fires are lit prior to guests’ arrival!
Garden
Outside, there is an extensive wooded garden which is ideal for children to play. Additionally al fresco meals & drinks can be enjoyed at the garden table and chairs under a parasol. From the garden unique views of the castle are accompanied by the relaxing flow of water from the nearby stream.
TANYCASTELL is an ideal setting for a short or long break in a stunning rural location. Once here you can indulge in bird watching, walking, climbing, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing or simply relaxing and taking in the laid back pace of Welsh country life.
